Once the service request is recorded, it must be approved or authorized. There could be service requests which can be
directly fulfilled by the Service Request Handler without any authorization. Certain requests however, exceed the
specification of service requests mentioned in service catalog from business or technical perspective and may require
addition budget to fulfil them. Hence it is essential to take approvals before proceeding with these requests. If the
service request cannot be fulfilled by the Service Request Handler, it is transferred to specialized resolver group. This
group then takes up the service request for fulfillment. It is useful to have a service request model in place as there are
service requests which are frequently raised by User. Having a model to fulfil the service request would ensure that a
consistent and efficient process is followed to fulfil the service request. It would also help to reduce the time required
to fulfil the request. |
